«I wrote the play Shelley. A Diet for Peace as my contribution to the bicentenary events in Lerici, commemorating Percy Bysshe Shelley's death on 8 July 1822 in a storm off the coast of Viareggio. Centre stage is Shelley whose radical views are still stunningly relevant today. He realized that everything on our planet is connected; what we eat and how we behave impact on our life, but also on that of others and on the environment. Hence his vegetarian, nonalcoholic diet, and his anti-establishment views on war, love, politics and the environment. In 2022 in an imaginary interview with a Scottish journalist, the Poet shares his ideas referencing his letters, prose and superb poetry.»
